ROSHN Group Sets Regional Benchmark with PAS 2080 Carbon Management Certification

ROSHN Group, Saudi Arabia’s leading multi-asset class developer and a portfolio company of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has been recognised as the first organisation in Saudi Arabia and the GCC to secure independent certification for carbon management in buildings and infrastructure. The certification was awarded by BSI, the global business standards and improvement company, to the internationally recognised PAS 2080 standard.

The achievement highlights ROSHN Group’s leadership in sustainability and supports the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 objectives, which prioritise enhanced quality of life, environmental stewardship, and long-term economic resilience.

As carbon management becomes a global priority, Saudi Arabia has committed to reducing emissions as part of its national sustainability agenda. In response, ROSHN Group partnered with BSI to adopt the PAS 2080 framework, a comprehensive approach to managing whole-life carbon across the built environment.

The certification followed an extensive gap assessment and the development of a tailored roadmap. ROSHN Group embedded a structured carbon management system into its daily operations, focusing on raising internal awareness, strengthening data quality, and aligning suppliers and contractors with shared carbon-reduction targets. Ongoing audits and close engagement with stakeholders ensured performance remained aligned with defined KPIs and national sustainability goals.

An independent assessment by BSI confirmed ROSHN Group’s compliance with PAS 2080, formally recognising the company’s robust approach to reducing environmental impact while delivering long-term value across its developments.

PAS 2080 provides a clear, end-to-end framework for carbon management in buildings and infrastructure, aiming to reduce whole-life carbon while simultaneously improving efficiency and value. The standard places strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration across the value chain, and intelligent design and asset management to reduce both carbon and cost.

Today, PAS 2080 is regarded as a key reference for policymakers, designers, developers, and construction stakeholders, serving as a practical specification for effective carbon management across the built environment.
